This retreat is designed to restore balance through the principle of rest.

As the new year unfolds, many of us feel the pull towards a gentler pace, an instinctive desire to restore and to reconnect with ourselves. We’ve created a retreat that honours this need for replenishment, shaped by Bamford’s five roots of wellness; Rest, Nourish, Feel, Move and Connect.

Bamford’s five roots of wellness invite space to pause – to return to nature and to feel grounded as we step into a new year. It’s a holistic approach to wellbeing, encouraging a journey that is unique to each of us.’ 

Across two nurturing days, you’ll settle into one of our cottages and follow a curated sequence of rituals to calm the nervous system and support deeper, more restorative sleep.  

Mornings begin with a nourishing cottage breakfast before a grounding walk through the farm to steady the mind and reconnect with nature. A light lunch at the Orchard Bar prepares you for an afternoon at the Bamford Wellness Spa, including a soothing sound bath and a 90-minute B Silent Ritual, a treatment that releases tension and prepares the body for restful sleep.  

Evenings are intentionally slow, with a simple supper followed by gentle suggested sleep cues such as a bath, herbal tea and journaling to ease you into a peaceful night’s rest.

  • B Silent Hamper
    Night-time essentials including pillow mist, bath salts and therapeutic oils.  
  • Breakfast in your cottage
    A gentle start to the day, encouraging slow nourishment and mindful eating – supporting gut health, mood and energy. 
  • Mindful Walking
    A grounding walk through the fields surrounding the farm. Time in nature helps regulate cortisol, steady the breath and calm the mind. 
  • Light lunch at the Orchard Bar
    Seasonal dishes that support digestion and sustained energy. 
  • Sound Bath at Bamford Wellness Spa
    Sound therapy helps to slow brainwaves, reduce stress hormones and ease the body into a meditative state. 
  • B Silent Ritual (90 minutes)
    A deeply restorative treatment that blends foot bathing, massage, shiatsu rocking, reflexology and breathwork to release tension, balance serotonin levels and prepare the body for restorative sleep. 
  • Rest & Digest Supper in your cottage
    A simple dish chosen for its ease of digestion ahead of sleep. 
  • Tech Recovery session
    Compression boots, light-blocking goggles and guided meditation encourage physical recovery and a quiet mind.  
  • Restorative Bath Ritual
    A deep-soaking magnesium bath to ease muscles, calm the nervous system and support natural melatonin production. 
  • Evening sleep cues
    Herbal tea and time to reflect in your journal, supporting emotional clarity and preparing the mind for uninterrupted sleep. 

When we step away from the noise of everyday life, the body can repair at a cellular level, the mind can quieten, and the nervous system can find its natural rhythm again. By combining nourishment, mindful movement, emotional grounding and deep sleep rituals, the experience creates a cycle of care that supports long-term wellbeing. It’s a gentle reset: a reminder that rest is not an indulgence, but an essential act of balance and vitality.
